How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Metro Detroit?

Two houses on the same block can need completely different visits. This guide explains the factors that change a quote. It does not list BH prices, because we do not publish them.

Why this page has no price list

BH Cleaning does not publish a rate card, a hourly figure, or a price per room. A bungalow and a newer two-story do not take the same time, and a maintained kitchen is not an oven that has not been cleaned since last winter. The only price we stand behind is a written quote for your property, sent before anyone starts.

You will see cleaning prices copied from one city to another all over the internet. Those numbers are not our quotes, and this article will not repeat them. Inventing a Metro Detroit average would be a guess dressed up as a fact. What follows are typical industry factors: the things that change the scope of a house cleaning anywhere, including here. They explain the quote. They are not a price.

If you want a number, request a free quote or call (248) 487-6646 during business hours. Tell us the city, the type of home, and what you want cleaned. We will answer Sunday through Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to noon. Saturday is closed.

Size and condition change the work

Bedrooms, bathrooms, and the kind of kitchen matter more than a zip code. A one-bathroom condo is a different visit from a four-bedroom house with two living areas and a finished basement. Stairs add time. So does a long entry that takes a winter of salt.

Condition matters as much as size. A standard clean suits a home people are living in: counters, baths, floors, reachable dust, and trash. If mail is piled up and the oven has a season of spills, the honest first visit is a deep clean. Quoting a maintenance visit for a house that needs a reset is how people end up disappointed.

Pets, kids, and a household that cooks every night are not moral judgments. They are scope. Tell us about dogs, cats, litter boxes, and any rooms that should stay closed. We bring standard supplies unless you want fragrance-free products or the products already in the house.

How often you book

Recurring cleaning is weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. The first visit is often deeper so the later visits can stay on a standard list. A house that is cleaned every week usually needs less detail each time than a house we see once a season. That is a typical industry pattern, not a coupon and not a published discount.

Biweekly is a common rhythm for family homes in Canton, Sterling Heights, and Troy. Monthly can fit a smaller condo or a home that is already tidy. Weekly fits busy households that want the kitchen and baths handled before the weekend. None of those sentences is a price. They are scheduling choices, and the quote names the one you pick.

Skipping a visit, holiday timing, and how far ahead you need to cancel are written on the quote. This website does not set a penalty or a contract length. Do not assume a term you have not read.

Tasks that are easy to leave off a standard visit

Inside the oven, inside the fridge, baseboards, interior windows, and blinds are the tasks people often assume are included. On our standard list, they are not. They belong on a deep clean, or as lines you ask us to add. Laundry, exterior glass, and wall washing are separate conversations. Inside cabinets, when they are full of belongings, are quoted only if you ask.

Move-in, move-out, short-term rental turnovers, and the dust after a renovation are their own services. Do not expect a recurring house-clean price, even a hypothetical one, to cover an empty apartment or a construction site. The residential cleaning overview is the map. The quote is the contract.

  • Rooms and bathrooms, including a finished basement if you want it
  • How lived-in the home is, and when it was last cleaned
  • Pets and any rooms to skip
  • One time, or weekly, biweekly, or monthly
  • Oven, fridge, interior glass, or other tasks beyond a standard visit
  • How we get in, and whether someone will be home

The building and the calendar

Access changes the day, even when the task list stays the same. A walk-up, a freight elevator with reserved hours, a garage code, or a lockbox all belong in the request. We confirm the entry plan before the first visit and lock up the way we found it. You do not have to be home.

Older trim-heavy houses in Royal Oak and parts of Detroit have more edges to wipe than an open floor plan. That is a factor, not a surcharge we hide on this page. Newer homes can still take longer if the glass, the showers, and the floors are simply larger.

We schedule inside published hours. A Saturday request gets an honest no, and a suggestion to use Friday or Sunday. We do not promise same-day service. If you need a clean before guests or before a landlord walkthrough, ask early enough that the route can absorb it.

Travel inside the metro is part of how we plan the day, not a line item published here. We come to homes in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, within about 35 miles. If a house sits near the edge of that area, say so when you write. We would rather tell you we can make the drive, or that we cannot, before you plan around a visit.

What to send so the quote is useful

The fastest quotes include the city, the type of property, bedrooms and bathrooms, pets, the kind of visit you want, and anything that should be left alone. If you have a landlord checklist or a photo of the oven, send it. Photos help. They do not replace the questions we still need to ask.

You will get the tasks in writing. If a room is not on the quote, it is not assumed. Nothing is added after that without your say-so. That is the whole pricing policy of this company: no rate card on the website, a written scope before the work, and a crew that cleans what the page says they clean.

Questions

Why won't you list even a starting price?

A starting price becomes the number people remember, and it is wrong as soon as the house is larger, dirtier, or on a different schedule. Ask for a free quote and you will get a figure that belongs to your home.

Are the factors on this page your fees?

No. They are typical industry factors: size, condition, frequency, add-on tasks, and access. They are not BH prices and they are not a Metro Detroit average. We do not publish averages.

Is a deep clean more work than a standard clean?

Yes. A deep clean includes the standard tasks and adds detail such as the oven, the fridge, baseboards, frames, and reachable interior glass. More work is a reason the quotes differ. The quote states which visit you are booking.

Do you charge extra for supplies?

We bring standard supplies. Fragrance-free products, or using what you already own, can be noted on the quote. We do not hide a supply catalog on this website.
